As the exclusive automotive sponsor for the fifth year in a row, Ford helped celebrate the 19th Annual ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans.
“The ESSENCE Festival occupies a special place in the hearts of African Americans and particularly African American women,” said Ford Multicultural Marketing Manager Shawn Thompson. “This relationship continues to allow Ford to go further as a company when it comes to not only our products but also our communities.”
Along with a chance to win a 2013 Ford Fusion, consumers could engage in ride-and-drives with the 2013 Ford Escape and the 2013 Ford Focus as well.
Adding to its surplus of $115 million in breast cancer awareness donations to date, Ford also hosted Pink Friday for the second consecutive year during which Ford Warriors in Pink donated $50 to the Young Survival Coalition for each of the first 200 test drives.
With the help of actor Boris Kodjoe, Ford introduced the “Mr. Matchmaker” Game Show Experience and also sponsored a “Steve Harvey Morning Show” broadcast.
The Ford booth was available for celebrity autographs in addition to live interviews conducted by Sirius XM. Artists like Anthony David, Chrisette Michele, Shaunie O’Neal, Kym Whitley and Charlie Wilson were among those interviewed.
