Industry leaders from all over the world flocked to Beijing on May 7 and 8 to attend the largest and most influential industry event in Asia – the Global Mobile Internet Conference.
And, the only automobile manufacturer at the GMIC received the Best Traditional-to-Mobile Transition Award.
In fact, it is the only automobile manufacturer to ever receive an award from the GMIC.
That automobile manufacturer was yours truly – Ford Motor Company.
In its mission to be more than just an automobile company, but to also be a technology company, Ford has delivered class-leading in-car connectivity technologies such as the Ford SYNC and SYNC AppLink.
It was these two technologies that earned Ford this honor as they are considered to fundamentally change how customers consume mobile services and products in their cars.
According to Ford, SYNC and SYNC AppLink are just voice-activated hands-free in-car communications and infotainment systems for mobile phones and digital media players that allow drivers to stay connected in a simple and safe way while driving.
And, since its debut in 2007, it has been sold with over five million Fords.
We here at Paul Obaugh Ford would say that is pretty award-worthy.
