It must be the fact that upsets are common and anything can happen.
It is as if a winner can never be declared until it is well beyond the finish line.
Well, it is July 3 and the results are in for a different type of pony race.
We are talking about the race between pony muscle cars.
The Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro have been archrivals since the beginning of time.
And, it seems, the Mustang came out on top this June – making it the second month in a row.
Despite the fact that sales are down by 9.9 percent from this time last year, the Ford Mustang still managed to outsell the Chevrolet Camaro.
The Ford outsold the Chevy’s 7,236 units with a grand total of 10,263 units this June – that is over twice the margin at 20 percent.
Until May, the Mustang had not been able to beat out the Camaro since last November.
These last two months, however, have placed the Ford on top for the first half of the year.
Not to mention, the Ford Mustang has sold a total of 1,020,123 units worldwide since 2004, while the Chevrolet Camaro has only racked up 345,026.
