Gleaners Community Food Bank for Southeastern Michigan.
What do these three organizations have in common?
The logo of each one appeared on the Transit Connect parked at the Ford display of the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The Transit Connect is just one of the many vehicles that Ford provides to facilitate the operations of public service and its volunteers.
This Transit Connect, in particular, is one of 13 that have been donated by Ford to local nonprofit organizations since 2009.
It is also one of 34 Transit Connects to have been sent out to assist other nonprofit organizations across the country.
It is the Gleaners Community Food Bank Transit Connect that serves as a mobile food pantry and also picks up and delivers diapers for babies as well as liquid nutritional food supplements for senior citizens.
Ford has made it possible for the Gleaners fleet of Transit Connect vehicles to transport more than 1.5 million pounds of food in the past four years.
Ford is more than just an automaker.
And the Ford Transit Connect is more than just an automobile.
Together, they make Gleaners Community Food Bank possible.
Local Staunton Virginia dealership, Paul Obaugh Ford, takes pride in this Ford philanthropy.
