Winter is right around the corner, so for those of you living in colder climates with lots of precipitation, it’s time to start winterizing your car. Getting your car ready for winter can save a life, so it’s important to check at least some of the boxes!
First and foremost, make sure you’re on your car’s suggested service schedule. Being up to date with oil changes and windshield wipers and the like is vital to keeping your car running smoothly and safely throughout the season. Right before winter is a great time to get a tune up. All fluids, filters, and systems should be checked thoroughly.
If you live somewhere seriously cold and wet and you have the cash to shell out, it’s a great idea to get some winter tires, which do much better than all-season tires on bad roads. Winter tires are made of softer rubber that doesn’t get so stiff and unyielding to the ground in cold weather.
Finally, keep your fuel tank full or close to it! Cold weather can make condensation form in empty fuel tanks, which can freeze your fuel lines. For more tips and tricks, see us today here at Paul Obaugh Ford! Are you ready?
