Whether you like it or not, Black Friday can offer some irresistible deals and discounts. It’s also a great way to motivate yourself to get your Christmas shopping done early. There’s almost nothing more stressful than doing your shopping down to the wire, when the temperature is below zero and you’re forced to buy at full price. Consumer Reports threw together a few suggestions to make this Black Friday a most fruitful one!
- Do Your Homework. By mid-November, most major retailers will have issued their discounts in print and online.
- Use Apps. Comparison-shopping apps are your all-knowing shopping companions. You can use apps like ShopSavvy and ShopKick to help you know that you are getting the best deal. Consumer Reports even recommends showing a store attendant a better deal from another store on your phone to see if that store will price-match.
- Enforce a budget. By developing a budget, and sticking to it, you can avoid the temptation of buying items you never planned to buy, at prices that aren’t discounted. Remember, the goal of Black Friday deals, is to get you into the store and buy regular items with a higher-profit margin. Stay strong!
We here at Paul Obaugh Ford wish you to be safe and have fun on Black Friday!
